What is a Job Finding Club?

A *free 3-week intensive, interactive job search seminar, presented as a series of structured motivational, goal-oriented and hands-on workshops facilitated by professioanal Employment Specialists. Activities are group-centered & client-directed in order to meet individual needs.

What are the Goals?

  • To find meaningful employment of the highest quality in the shortest period of time
  • To develop effective self-marketing & employment search skills for a lifetime

How are Goals Met?

  • Daily group activities ensure that group members dedicate 6+ hours daily to their work search
  • Customized job search tools and strategic self-marketing techniques are developed and used to access potential employment opportunities
  • Career strategizing is promoted via confidence-building exercises and business research skills as a survivability strategy in an unpredictable job market

  • Obtain a list of companies from the On-line Scott’s Directory
  • 30 ways to shine at work
  • Using a career portfolio
  • Salary negotiations
  • Business image

Who is Eligible?

  • Recipients of Employment Insurance (E.I.) and non-EI who are Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, confirmed Refugee Status or legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Referral is required from an employment counselor at a local Service Canada Employment Assessment Centre
